Job Title: Class 1 Shunter – Days

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shifts

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Shunter to join our team in Basingstoke. This is a Monday to Friday, daytime position, offering up to £35,000 per year, with additional responsibilities including light yard duties.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence and be confident in safely moving trailers around the yard, working closely with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shunting trailers between bays and yard areas in a safe and timely manner
- Carrying out light yard duties, including basic checks and yard organisation
- Conducting pre-use vehicle and trailer inspections
- Ensuring accurate trailer movements and record keeping
- Liaising with transport and warehouse staff to coordinate trailer availability
- Adhering to all site safety rules and transport regulations
Requirements:
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience in a shunting or yard role preferred
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
