Job Title: Coach Builder
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Coach Builder to join our team in Newcastle to repair and restore a fleet of buses following accidents. This role offers the chance to work in a modern facility where your skills will be crucial in maintaining vehicle safety, appearance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and rebuild damaged bus bodies following accidents
- Assess and replace damaged panels, frameworks, and structural components
- Use welding, panel beating, and other coach building techniques to restore vehicles to a high standard
- Work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Coach Builder, preferably with bus or commercial vehicle experience
- Skilled in welding, metalwork, panel beating, and structural repairs
- Ability to assess damage and plan effective repair work
- Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
