Diagnostic Technician

Our client is a well-established main dealership in Coventry and is looking for an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their busy Service Department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults efficiently and accurately.
  • Undertake servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of vehicles to the highest standard.
  • Complete repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods, times, and company procedures.
  • Support other technicians with complex fault finding and technical guidance when required.
  • Accurately complete diagnostic reports, vehicle health checks, and repair documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and dealership standards.
  • Liaise with Service Advisors and the Workshop Controller to provide accurate technical information and repair updates.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician or experienced Vehicle Technician within a main dealership or similar workshop environment.
  • Strong diagnostic, electrical, and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and modern vehicle systems.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and delivering excellent customer service.
