Location: Glasgow
£22.91 per hour + Overtime
£2,000 Joining Bonus
Hours: Nightshift 19:00 to 06:00 4 on 4 off
 
We are seeking a skilled HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician to join a busy workshop team responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems across a fleet of passenger service vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in commercial vehicles, buses, coaches or heavy plant who enjoys fault finding and electrical diagnostics.
 
The Role of the HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults on buses and coaches.
• Carrying out fault finding using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
• Repairing and replacing wiring looms, sensors, relays, switches and control units.
• Diagnosing CAN Bus and multiplex electrical systems.
• Maintaining vehicle lighting, CCTV, destination equipment and ancillary systems.
• Carrying out electrical inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Supporting mechanical technicians with complex electrical faults.
• Ensuring all work is completed to company and DVSA standards.

 
What We’re Looking for from the HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Auto Electrical or Engineering.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, coaches or heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus systems and vehicle electronics.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
• A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
