Salary: £28.26 and hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.
Location: Guildford
 
The Role of the HGV Technician
We are looking for a skilled HGV Technician with a strong electrical bias to join a busy bus and coach engineering team.
This is a great opportunity to work on modern passenger vehicles, focusing on diagnostics, electrical systems, and ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.
 
Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician

• Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on buses and coaches
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults
• Work on systems including wiring, CAN bus, ECUs, CCTV, and telematics
• Undertake fault finding using diagnostic equipment
• Ensure all work is completed to a high safety and quality standard
• Accurately complete job cards and documentation

 
What We’re Looking For from an HGV Technician

• Experience as an HGV Technician / PSV Technician / Bus Engineer
• Strong electrical and diagnostic skills (this is essential)
• Experience working on buses or coaches (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of CAN systems and modern vehicle electrics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (desirable)
