Location: Rochdale
Salary: £52,000 – £55,000 per annum
Hours: 42.5 Hours per Week
 
Are you an experienced HGV Technician / PSV Technician looking for a role where your technical expertise will be valued and recognised?
We are recruiting for a skilled technician to join a busy and well-established fleet engineering operation in Rochdale. Working on a modern fleet of passenger service vehicles, you will play a key role in maintaining vehicle reliability, supporting workshop performance and helping to uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance.
 
What You’ll Be Doing as HGV Technician / PSV Technician

  • Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and repairs on PSV and HGV vehicles.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
  • Completing MOT preparation work and ensuring vehicles remain compliant with all relevant regulations.
  • Supporting workshop efficiency by identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Assisting colleagues with diagnostics and technical problem solving when required.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job documentation.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Contributing towards the overall reliability, availability and performance of the fleet.

What we’re looking for from the HGV Technician / PSV Technician

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, PSV Technician, Bus Technician, Coach Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Good understanding of modern vehicle systems and repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of DVSA maintenance standards and compliance requirements.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
