Are you an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic / Truck Mechanic looking for a role where no two days are quite the same?
This is an opportunity to join a specialist commercial vehicle engineering business working on a wide range of HGVs, trailers and specialist equipment, within a well-equipped workshop environment.
 
What’s on offer for the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic / Truck Mechanic

  • £45,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00
  • 40-hour working week
  • Saturday morning 08:00–12:00
  • Overtime paid at 1.25x

The role of the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic / Truck Mechanic
involve:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Working on braking systems, suspension, chassis and running gear
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Working on hydraulic systems, hoses, cylinders and valves
  • Carrying out MOT preparation and associated repairs
  • Working on trailers and specialist commercial vehicle equipment
  • Supporting general engineering, fabrication and repair work where required
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

 
What we’re looking for from the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic / Truck Mechanic 

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
  • Good knowledge of HGV systems and commercial vehicles
  • Experience with hydraulics and/or electrical systems would be highly advantageous
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Able to diagnose faults and work independently
  • A practical, hands-on approach to engineering
  • Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
