Location: Newbury
Salary: £20.00 per hour | 45 hours per week | Overtime at 1.5x (£30.00 per hour)
Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shifts

Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team based in Newbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established company offering excellent rates of pay, consistent hours, and opportunities for overtime.
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a range of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and comply with all current legislation.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
• Perform MOT preparations and safety inspections in line with DVSA standards
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and within agreed timeframes
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and workshop procedures

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or similar role
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Package

• £20.00 per hour basic rate
• 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday – Days)
• Overtime available at 1.5x (£30.00 per hour)
• Company van provided
• Stable, full-time, permanent position
