Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £46,000 basic + up to £6,600 bonus (OTE up to £52,600)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 08:15–17:00
- Friday: 08:30–16:00
- Saturday: 1 in 4 rota (09:00–13:00)
Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Master Technician / Senior Vehicle Technician to join a modern, manufacturer-approved workshop in Chelmsford.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled automotive technician with strong experience in advanced diagnostics, complex fault finding, and high-quality vehicle repairs. You will be working in a fast-paced, professional workshop environment with access to manufacturer-level training, hybrid and electric vehicle development, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out advanced diagnostics and fault finding on modern passenger vehicles
- Perform servicing, maintenance, and complex mechanical/electrical repairs
- Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards and manufacturer specifications
- Conduct quality control inspections on vehicles (new and used)
- Support and mentor Technicians and Apprentice Technicians
- Deliver consistent first-time fixes and high workshop efficiency
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Senior Technician, or Master Technician
- Strong diagnostic, electrical, and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience using modern automotive diagnostic tools and systems
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
- Experience in a main dealer or premium automotive environment (desirable but not essential)
- Hybrid and electric vehicle experience (advantageous)
