Mechanical Fitter – Workshop Based – Witham Area
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established team based near Witham. This is a workshop-based role, ideal for candidates with a background in HGV or plant maintenance. Will include machine inspections & repair, welding / fabrication experience required also.
What’s on Offer:
- £20+ per hour DOE
- Plenty of overtime available
- 39-hour working week
- Permanent role with excellent stability
Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting inspections on lorries and plant machinery
- Carrying out defect rectification and mechanical repairs
- Ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
- Performing fabrication tasks, including welding and metalwork
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with HGVs, plant, or similar heavy vehicles
- Fabrication/welding experience is essential
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs confidently
- Team player with a strong work ethic
