PDI Generator Engineer
Location: Peterborough (Depot-based – must live within 30 mins)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (40-hour week)
We are recruiting for a PDI Generator Engineer to join a busy depot in Peterborough. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, and preparing diesel generator sets (20–780KVA) to ensure they are ready for customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and full testing of generator sets
- Perform servicing, repairs, and modifications
- Electrical wiring and programming (Deepsea / Deif / PLC)
- Assist with depot tasks including loading/unloading units
- Attend product training as required
- Support occasional call-out rota and work flexible hours when needed
Requirements:
- Experience with diesel generators (mechanical & electrical)
- Knowledge of power packs and control systems
- Positive team player, flexible attitude
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant Engineering / Powergen Qualifications desirable (e.g. mechanical, electrical, 18th Edition)
