Transport Coordinator Location: Bracknell
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
About the Role We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to join our team in Bracknell. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning daily vehicle schedules, supporting driver operations, and ensuring smooth transport activities. The Transport Coordinator will play a key part in delivering efficient and compliant services that meet customer and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage daily work schedules for the fleet, adapting to changing customer requirements
- Liaise with drivers to ensure timely dispatch and route completion
- Monitor driver performance, timekeeping, and attendance, providing support and addressing issues as needed
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant legal, health & safety, and company policies
- Manage MOTs, servicing schedules, and contingency plans for breakdowns or staff absences
- Track and report on KPIs, including vehicle mileage, delivery metrics, and fuel usage
- Resolve operational issues, such as missed deliveries, while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Provide accurate weekly reports to the Transport Manager
- Handle internal and external communications with professionalism and efficiency
Person Specification
- Proven experience as a Transport Coordinator or similar logistics/transport planning role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport software (e.g., vehicle tracking systems)
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Confident problem-solver with good conflict resolution skills
- Customer-focused with a strong business mindset
- Knowledge of transport operations and compliance standards
