Job Title: Class 2 Driver / Shunter
Location: Brackley
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift
Salary: Up to £38,625+ per annum
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Driver / Shunter to join our team in Brackley. This full-time day shift role, offering a competitive salary of £35,000, involves shunting Class 2 vehicles around the yard, transporting vehicles to MOT sites, delivering to customers, and assisting with general yard duties. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 2 license, strong attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards maintaining an organized yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Shunting:
Safely maneuver Class 2 vehicles around the yard to designated areas, assisting with vehicle positioning for maintenance, inspections, and repairs. - Transport to MOT Sites:
Drive vehicles to and from MOT testing sites, ensuring timely transport and compliance with road safety regulations. - Customer Deliveries:
Deliver vehicles or parts to customers as required, maintaining professionalism and a high standard of customer service. - Yard Duties:
Assist with general yard organization and upkeep, including maintaining cleanliness, organizing equipment, and ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly. - Vehicle Checks:
Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle checks, reporting any defects or issues and ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
Qualifications and Skills:
- License:
Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license required. - Experience:
Prior experience in a shunting or similar driving role preferred, with knowledge of HGV yard procedures and vehicle handling. - Attention to Detail:
Ability to carry out vehicle checks and yard organization with a meticulous approach. - Time Management:
Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet scheduled MOT appointments and customer deliveries. - Team Player:
Willingness to assist with yard duties and work as part of a team to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
