Service Manager
Holt Recruitment is seeking an experienced and proactive Service Manager to join our client’s well-established agricultural main dealership at their Braintree depot in Essex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Service Manager passionate about agricultural and horticultural machinery to take on a leadership role within a busy service department, managing a team of skilled technicians and delivering outstanding customer service.
Package: Competitive salary DOE, Company vehicle, performance bonus.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch) – Weekend work and additional hours required in busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
- As the Service Manager you will manage and motivate the service team, providing guidance and support.
- Organise and prioritise workloads to ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery.
- Maintain excellent communication with customers, keeping them informed and managing expectations effectively.
- Monitor departmental performance, including profit and loss, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Handle staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for management, customers, and team members.
About You
- Strong knowledge of agricultural or horticultural machinery is highly beneficial.
- Previous service manager or supervisory experience in a service or workshop environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask and problem-solve under pressure.
- Confident in managing staff-related matters and delivering constructive feedback.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to leadership and customer service.
- Proficient in IT systems, with a good understanding of reporting and administration.
