Prep Technician – Chelmsford
Salary: £30,000 basic, OTE up to £36,600
Hours: Monday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, Saturdays on a rota basis
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Joining Bonus: Up to £2,000!
Job Description:
We are looking for a Prep Technician to join a fast-paced workshop in Chelmsford. In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for performing pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles, ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards. Offering excellent career progression, EV training, and a friendly team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and install number plates/accessories
- Conduct vehicle health checks and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines
- Report additional work needed and maintain vehicle maintenance standards
- Provide support to the workshop team and maintain high-quality service
Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- Previous experience in the motor industry (dealer group or independent garage)
- Full and valid UK driving licence
- Self-motivated, team player with a focus on quality and service
- Experience with pre-delivery inspections or servicing is preferred
