Job Title: PSV Workshop Controller (Night Shift)
Location: Brixton
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum
Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PSV Workshop Controller to join our team in Brixton. This is a night shift role that offers an excellent opportunity to oversee and manage our workshop operations effectively while ensuring the smooth maintenance and repair of public service vehicles (PSVs).
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Management: Coordinate and oversee all night shift workshop activities, ensuring efficiency and adherence to schedules.
- Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of skilled technicians and support staff, ensuring high performance and morale.
- Maintenance Oversight: Monitor the repair, servicing, and inspection of PSVs to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on completed work to maintain high standards and minimize rework.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure the optimal use of tools, equipment, and materials, reducing waste and downtime.
- Scheduling and Planning: Organize and prioritize tasks to meet operational deadlines and customer requirements.
- Communication: Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and prompt issue resolution.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols within the workshop.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work completed, staff performance, and workshop KPIs.
Key Skills and Experience
- Experience: Proven experience in a PSV or HGV workshop environment, with previous supervisory or managerial experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of PSV maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
- Leadership: Effective team leadership and motivational skills.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.
- IT Skills: Familiarity with workshop management systems and MS Office Suite.
- Certifications: Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Working Hours
- 4 on 4 off
- Flexibility may be required to meet operational needs.
